Goodbye World

Good morning everyone. What a wonderful day to be alive and be a part of God’s wonderful plan. So many people just wondering around aimlessly not knowing where to go or what to do. This is why the whole world will wonder after the beast. We have a goal and a purpose. Because of our vision, we continue going forward. Our vision is ahead of us. This is what Jesus said in Lk. 9:62, No man having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. “Looking back” is present tense. We must leave the path we once trod in order to follow God. Elisha when he was called, left his oxen, bid farewell to his parents and followed the man of God, Elijah. When we don’t make a break from what we were doing before God called us we are looking over our shoulder constantly. As I said looking back is present tense. A sad story in the Bible is about a man that had potential in the kingdom of God. Demas was one of Paul’s fellow laborers. Unlike Elisha, he didn’t leave everything behind and follow the man of God. There was always that longing in his heart of what he was missing out on. Through the years I have watched people who leave church. It doesn’t take them long till they have changed their looks. Why is that? They never got it out of their heart. They would think of how much they missed their old life. Granted some things they may not return to but there are things that they will go straight to. Eventually it got the best of Demas and he left the work of God. I know we don’t think that will ever happen to us. I guarantee you that Demas never thought it would happen to him. In Mt. 7:14, Jesus said it was a narrow way. I know most of you have never plowed a field with a horse. Understand the horse goes in the direction you direct it. When you are looking back, the horse will wonder off just a little bit. When you get to the end of the row you are way off your line. It is like a car. If you let the steering wheel go, the car begins to drift. It doesn’t go straight to the ditch. It begins to slowly drift. This is why we must keep our eyes on the goal and not look over our shoulder because we begin to drift. Like the song: Goodbye World, Goodbye. We need to once and for all say goodbye world.
