We have read Mt. 25:1-13 many times and heard many messages on it. None of us like to think of ourselves as a foolish virgin. What is a foolish virgin? All of us have done foolish things in life. That doesn’t mean you are foolish. All of us have told a lie but that doesn’t make us a liar. A liar is one who habitually lies. A foolish virgin is one who hears the word continuously and never applies it to their life.
The scripture says all have sinned. That doesn’t give us a license to continue sinning. We have to quit sinning. Pr 22:3 ¶ A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished. Let me put this verse in my own words. A wise man heard the message and hid it in his heart and made preparations for the evil days. The foolish man disregarded the word and continued on without making any preparations for the evil days.
We in the Body of Christ have no excuse for not being ready for the evil days that are before us. Right now we are facing an evil day. It is too late to prepare for it now. Yesterday was the time to prepare. Just like the foolish virgins wanted oil but it was too late. I am afraid that this isn’t the last evil day. That is good in a way. This gives us time to change and become a wise virgin. I hope that we are learning from what is going on today.
What is your fear today? A fear shows a lack of preparation. If we are prepared, there isn’t anything to fear. If I have fear then my faith in God is weak. Live or die we belong to him. We love this life too much. We need to be prepared to leave here and be excited about being ready. Paul said:
2Ti 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:
8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
The Apostle is talking to you and me. We have a crown awaiting us. We must be prepared for every situation that comes before us. We have too many things that we lean on in this life. God wants us to lean on him, trust him in all things. I am amazed at how God is overshadowing his people. There are testimonies of victory and peace in the midst of the storm. I am hearing testimonies of people getting their love to one another. We are a family of a different kind.
